Viridian Consultants is looking to appoint a field engineer to support trials of our sampling tool, ViridiScope, on nuclear decommissioning sites in the UK
This is a one year appointment starting on 1st April 2017. The first six months will be spent in training, assembling the tools, testing the equipment and becoming familiar with its operation at our facility in N Wales prior to deployment on nuclear sites. There will be the opportunity to gain an understanding of the business sector and make the necessary contacts to gain security clearance for access to the sites. For the second six months of the contract, the engineer will be working on sites across the UK, assisting with sampling in radioactive environments and in situ analysis of the collected material.
Dates: April 2017-March 2018 One year contract
Annual salary: £25,000-£34,000 pa
Holidays: 28 days including public & bank holidays
Experience: S/he will be educated in a STEM subject. Preference will be given to candidates with experience of working on a nuclear site and/or handling radioactivity. A basic level understanding of electrical/electronics will be beneficial.
